SXM Today is independently owned. Our owner also runs other businesses on the island, and some of those relationships overlap with businesses that may advertise here.
No advertiser — including one with an existing relationship to our owner — gets to see a story before it publishes, influence how it’s written, or have it pulled. See our editorial standards and how we’re funded.
How we work
Every story carries a byline and a label saying how it was produced. We use software to watch official sources — the weather service, the utility, the government, the airport — so we hear about things quickly. A person reads and approves everything before it publishes.
We don’t rewrite other outlets’ journalism. If someone else broke a story, we either report it ourselves or credit and link to them.
