Everything we got wrong
Every correction we’ve made, newest first. When we get something wrong we fix the story, note it on the story itself, and log it here.
Court gives GEBE four weeks to start cable work in a “downright dangerous” situation
Corrected on 18 October 2026. An earlier version of this article, published on 12 October 2026, did not name GEBE, calling it only “a power company”. It also left out the court’s finding that the situation there was downright dangerous, and the court’s record that GEBE had disconnected the company holding the lot. Its headline led on the US$99,783 awarded to Meadowlands B.V. without saying that the court found a very large part of what Meadowlands claimed could not be awarded, and it said the government was not a party in any of the week’s rulings without saying that GEBE was a party in one.
Anguilla delegation meets yacht industry at Monaco Yacht Show
An earlier version said the Anguilla Tourist Board had not publicly detailed any agreements or changes from the meetings. The report said nothing either way, so we have replaced that line with who was in the delegation.
Wever says employers hired applicants at National Job Fair
An earlier version placed the Aleeze Convention Center in Great Bay. That came from the report’s dateline, not from the report itself. We have removed it.
Jansen-Webster calls for job fair employment follow-up
An earlier version placed the National Job Fair in Great Bay. That came from the report’s dateline, which is where it was filed, not where the fair was held. We have removed it.
Woman sentenced after partner suffers boiling-oil burns
An earlier version said J. was admitted to hospital at about 4am; about 4am is when gendarmes were called to the hospital. It also said L. told the court she threw the oil after learning he had been unfaithful; that comes from the account of events. In court she said she had reached a breaking point after years of domestic violence. We have corrected both.
Many in Caribbean Netherlands question information seen online
Clarified: the 40 percent figure for people who doubted information on social media is for St Eustatius only. On Bonaire and Saba the share was just over half.
CBCS says Sint Maarten growth needs stronger resilience and broader investment
An earlier version of the summary said the CBCS says Sint Maarten “must” strengthen disaster-risk financing, infrastructure and public services. The bulletin calls these “critical priorities”. We have corrected the summary.
Tackling reviews 2015 traffic-law proposal as road reforms are considered
Updated: the first version left out two facts from the same session. Justice Minister Nathalie Tackling told Parliament that four police officers are suspended, three of them involved in active criminal investigations, and that the police’s 2026 request of about Cg 300,000 for uniforms and personal equipment was cut to Cg 75,000 in the budget process. We have added them.
The Setai projects more than 550 jobs as it joins National Job Fair
An earlier version said the National Job Fair was held at the National Employment Services Center (NESC). The report describes it as an NESC event; it did not say where it was held. Other reports place the fair at the Aleeze Convention Center. We have corrected the line.
Roseburg responds to killing of Peruvian candidate Susy Aponte Polo
An earlier version said MP Sjamira Roseburg said Peruvian authorities “must determine” the circumstances and motive of the killing. She said those remain a matter for the Peruvian authorities to investigate. We have corrected the wording.
Roseburg asks Government to review emergency powers, add prison space
An earlier version said Justice Minister Nathalie Tackling called crime “not yet a crisis” and said the situation “did not meet the standard” for a crisis. The report quotes her as saying she does not believe the situation currently qualifies as a crisis or a state of emergency. We have corrected both lines.
SMMC schedules men’s health screening for 26 September
An earlier version attributed this information to the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA). SHTA published the release on its website, but it is Orco Bank’s. We have corrected the attribution.
Two Sint Maarten groups win second-place Dutch volunteer awards
An earlier version attributed this announcement to the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA). SHTA published it on its website, but the statement is the two organisations’ own. We have corrected the attribution.
How the log worksThis log is append-only. We can’t quietly remove an entry — an outlet that can edit its own record of mistakes doesn’t have one.
