Wever says employers hired applicants at National Job Fair

More than 40 companies and organisations took part in the third National Job Fair at the Aleeze Convention Center in Great Bay on Thursday, The People’s Tribune reported. Member of Parliament Christopher Wever attended the event and said some employers hired applicants during the fair.

According to The People’s Tribune, Wever said employers were conducting interviews and that some were prepared to make further hires if suitable candidates came forward. He also praised the National Employment Services Center, NESC, for organising the event.

Wever said job seekers could continue using NESC’s job portal, which is designed to connect residents with vacancies and allow employers to advertise positions. The People’s Tribune reported that the 2026 fair introduced the National Job Portal.

He also called for a career fair for high-school students, potentially coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Government study-financing initiatives. Wever said such an event could help students learn about qualifications needed for local professions and possible scholarship support from employers.
