Jansen-Webster calls for job fair employment follow-up

GREAT BAY — MP Veronica Jansen-Webster welcomed turnout at the National Job Fair 2026 at the Aleeze Convention Center, The People’s Tribune reported. She said participating employers told her they had hired people on the spot.

Jansen-Webster called for information on attendance and on job seekers who secured work. She said data from the National Employment Services Center (NESC) could be compared with the Department of Statistics’ Labour Force Survey to identify age groups that need support, according to The People’s Tribune.

The MP also said she had shared suitable vacancies and résumés with people seeking work after Sint Maarten students in the Netherlands contacted her. She said she had asked the Minister Plenipotentiary in the Netherlands to circulate government vacancies among students there.

Jansen-Webster said her proposed amendment to the 2026 budget would increase funding for external personnel within the Ministry of General Affairs. She encouraged job seekers to register through NESC.sx and check government vacancies at sintmaartengov.org under Residents / Employment.
