The Anglican Church said it will hold homecoming services on Sunday 25 October for Anglicans, particularly young people and adults who no longer attend church regularly. Services are scheduled for 8am AST in Philipsburg and 10:30am in Marigot.

The church said the initiative, “Come Home: Bring an Anglican to Church,” asks members to contact relatives, friends and others baptised in the Anglican faith who are no longer active in the congregation.

Father Rawlins asked congregants during a Sunday service to invite at least one Anglican to attend on 25 October, according to the church. The appeal focuses on younger people who grew up in the faith and later became less involved while pursuing education, careers and other responsibilities.

Rawlins also recounted meeting an Anglican at a church fundraiser who had returned to Sint Maarten after studying abroad but had not resumed regular Sunday worship. The church said parents, grandparents, godparents, relatives and friends can personally invite people who have lost touch with the congregation.
