Applications open for 2027 world heritage youth symposium in Greece
Students and teachers aged 15 to 24 can apply until 16 October to join the 8th World Cultural Heritage Youth Symposium in Loutraki, Greece, next March, The People’s Tribune reported.
Applications are open for the 8th World Cultural Heritage Youth Symposium, to be held in Loutraki, Greece, from 17 to 21 March 2027 under the theme “Young Guardians of World Heritages,” The People’s Tribune reported on Sunday, 20 September. Students and teachers aged 15 to 24 can apply using an online form until 16 October 2026.
The annual symposium brings students and teachers from around the world together to share what they know about protecting cultural heritage, and is linked to the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the newspaper said.
St. Maarten sent five students to the seventh symposium in April 2026, under the theme “World Heritage in Young Hands.” They were accompanied by language teachers Jennelle Blackman of Milton Peters College and Emlynn Francis of St. Maarten Academy. The delegation shared aspects of St. Maarten’s culture at the symposium and presented its experiences to local organisations after returning, according to the Tribune.
