Bailey and Santaga receive honours in SHTA’s 2027 photo contest

St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association said on Friday 2 October that Mara Bailey and Richard Santaga received honourable mentions in its 2027 Events Calendar Photo Contest. Bailey was recognised for Carnival photographs, while Santaga was recognised for photographs of the Heineken Regatta. Santaga won the 2026 edition of the contest, according to the association.

The announcement adds the honourable mentions to the contest results. SHTA said photographer Rodney Washington was selected as the winner, with a photograph of wooden gazebos in Emilio Wilson Park, greenery, flamboyant trees and a mountainous backdrop set to appear in the 2027 calendar. Washington will receive a weekend stay at Seaview Beach Hotel on the Philipsburg Boardwalk, the association said.

SHTA said the 2027 calendar will be its 11th edition and will use a new design after 10 years of the previous format. The calendar will be available free of charge, with copies reservable through the association.
