Clean St Martin said nearly 400 people took part in beach clean-ups across Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten on Friday 19 September and Saturday 20 September. The association said more than 1,554kg of waste was collected, excluding bulky items that were difficult to weigh.

Clean St Martin said a bin made available by Benjamin Picarle of LVMO collected 740kg of waste. It said Verde SXM handled the collected waste free of charge.

The association said its next public clean-up will begin at 8am AST on Sunday 4 October at Belle Créole. It also said donors to Clean St Martin receive an 80% tax reduction.
