Court finds defendant understood actions in sexual video case

At the start of January 2026, a minor filed a complaint after receiving a sexual video from an acquaintance, the court heard. The defendant, who was identifiable in the video, received a two-year suspended probationary prison sentence after the court found he was aware of his actions.

The court said a psychiatric assessment found the defendant’s awareness intact at the time. It also considered his conduct during questioning and a voice message sent before the video: “Regarde ça bébé” (“Look at that, baby”).

The defendant was ordered to receive psychiatric care and barred from work involving minors for five years. The court also awarded €500 to the minor for moral harm.

The defendant said the teenager had asked for the video, according to the court. The teenager disputed that account. The teenager is also to face court over allegations that he hit the defendant at the defendant’s home after receiving the video.
