The Caribbean Tourism Organization will hold an AI Tourism Bootcamp on Monday 28 September as part of its World Tourism Day programme. CTO said the session is intended to give tourism professionals practical experience using digital tools in their daily work.

According to CTO, the bootcamp is aimed at ministries and tourism departments, community tourism organisations, small- and medium-sized tourism enterprises, young professionals, students and entrepreneurs. Participants are expected to develop a tourism product or asset for further use in their organisations.

CTO said this year’s World Tourism Day theme is “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.” Secretary-General and CEO Dona Regis-Prosper said technology should support Caribbean tourism’s hospitality, culture, communities and sense of place.

The organisation’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference is scheduled for Guyana from 5 to 9 October. CTO said the conference will examine technology, research, talent, sustainability, connectivity and competitiveness.
