Curaçao preparedness expo includes first island scavenger hunt
The Ami ta Prepará preparedness expo on Saturday 17 October gave visitors emergency advice and awarded a Cg2,500 scavenger-hunt prize.

The Ami ta Prepará, or I Am Prepared, expo was held on Saturday 17 October at Plasa Brion in Willemstad, Curaçao. According to the Directorate for Risk Management and Disaster Policy (DRR), visitors received information and practical advice on preparing themselves and their families for crisis situations.
The DRR said it organised the event with partners as part of its Ami ta Prepará awareness campaign. Emergency services, rescue organisations, government agencies, units of the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Organisation (CRBO), CRBO liaisons and non-governmental organisations involved in crisis management took part.
The DRR said organisers told visitors that household preparedness can give emergency services more capacity to assist vulnerable people during a crisis.
The event also included its first scavenger hunt. Registered teams travelled across Curaçao during the afternoon to complete tasks about risks and crisis situations, before gathering at Plasa Brion for an awards ceremony. Banco di Caribe provided a Cg2,500 grand prize for the winning team.
