The Caribbean United in Excellence Summit is scheduled to take place in Curaçao on Friday 9 October. Political leaders, experts and young people are expected to discuss regional cooperation, including sustainable development, knowledge-sharing and the use of regional talent.

The meeting is part of Curaçao's activities around the anniversary of 10 October 2010, when the island became an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Public information available before the event had not confirmed whether St. Maarten would be represented by a government or youth delegation.

St. Maarten is scheduled to host a Kingdom Summit involving the governments of St. Maarten, Curaçao, Aruba and the Netherlands on Tuesday 17 November and Wednesday 18 November. That meeting is expected to focus on cooperation within the Kingdom.
