Draft 2027 budget projects Cg 670 million in revenue and Cg 662 million in spending

Finance Minister Marinka Gumbs has released a breakdown of the draft 2027 national budget, which projects Government revenue of Cg 670 million and expenditure of about Cg 662 million. Gumbs said taxes are expected to provide Cg 497 million of the projected revenue.

According to Gumbs' presentation, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport would receive Cg 133 million. The Ministry of Justice is allocated Cg 114 million, while the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour is allocated Cg 104 million.

The draft budget was submitted to Parliament on Tuesday 8 September. Members of Parliament are to scrutinise the proposed revenue, ministry allocations, policies and spending priorities through the parliamentary process.

Gumbs' presentation lists Cg 65 million in fees and concessions, Cg 25 million in permits and Cg 84 million in other revenue. It identifies wage tax, income tax, profit tax and turnover tax as the main tax sources.

General Affairs is allocated Cg 101 million, Finance Cg 98 million, TEATT Cg 44 million and VROMI Cg 40 million. Parliamentary and other high councils and special entities account for about Cg 28 million, according to the presentation.
