Government says 315,206 public records have been digitised

The Government of Sint Maarten says it has completed the production phase of a public-records digitisation project, scanning more than 315,206 Archived Public Records. The Civil Registry Department and the Department of Records Management, known as DIV, carried out the work with the Government’s Digital Leadership Team.

DIV has completed quality-control and acceptance work, according to the government. Staff from the department were scheduled to take part in training at the Digitization Center from Monday 28 September to Wednesday 30 September 2026, including use of the XSCAN system and scanning equipment.

The government said contractor Novian Technologies has completed the handover to DIV. It said the digitised records will be imported into the government’s Document Management System for management and access within its digital records environment.

The Digital Government Transformation Project is led by the Digital Leadership Team and implemented by the National Recovery Program Bureau on behalf of the government. It is funded through a US$12 million Sint Maarten Trust Fund grant financed by the Government of the Netherlands and managed by the World Bank.
