InterExpo congress in The Hague to focus on Dutch Caribbean economy
InterExpo Caribbean plans its 37th congress in The Hague from 8 to 10 December, with economic security and poverty on the agenda.
The People’s Tribune reported that InterExpo Caribbean N.V. will hold its 37th congress from 8 to 10 December 2026 at Nieuwspoort, in the building of the Dutch House of Representatives in The Hague. The congress is titled “Growth, Innovation, and Prosperity in the Dutch Caribbean through Strategic Investments.”
According to The People’s Tribune, the programme will focus on economic development, cooperation within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, poverty reduction and climate issues. InterExpo has identified tourism dependence, investment, financing, education, labour-market issues, fiscal policy and the islands’ economic reputation as discussion topics.
The People’s Tribune said panels are planned on all three days. The 8 December session is titled “Improvement through Cooperation”; the 9 December session will address economic strengthening of the Dutch Caribbean islands and Suriname; and the closing discussions on 10 December will cover climate-related themes.
Suriname is expected to take part after several years away from the congress, The People’s Tribune reported. Organisers expect about 40 speakers and 200 guests. Professor Dr. Peter Diekman RA will chair the congress.
