Mediawegwijs expands digital lessons on St. Eustatius

Mediawegwijs said it will return to St. Eustatius to update technology lessons at the island’s four primary schools, train teachers and give more attention to artificial intelligence and healthy digital habits. The organisation has worked with the schools since 2023.

According to Mediawegwijs, pupils at Bethel Methodist School, Seventh Day Adventist School, Governor de Graaff School and Golden Rock School have used lessons on robotics, virtual reality, 3D pens, online behaviour, misinformation and cyberbullying. The organisation said it will check existing equipment, update apps and software, introduce lessons and hold a teacher-training session that includes AI.

Mediawegwijs said representatives of JOGG, an approach supporting healthier lifestyles among children, are scheduled to visit its activities on St. Eustatius. It said educators Kay and Biko will travel to Saba after the St. Eustatius programme for meetings with JOGG on healthy digital habits.
