MHF says 24-hour crisis line is available for adults and children

The Mental Health Foundation said its confidential crisis line offers emergency mental health support for adults and children around the clock.

On Wednesday 21 October, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) said its confidential crisis line, +1 (721) 585-5556, is available 24 hours a day for adults and children facing a mental health emergency. The foundation said trained professionals can provide in-person assistance when needed.

MHF said people do not need a referral to seek emergency support. Its mobile crisis response service has an on-call psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse and registered nurse/case manager, according to the foundation.

The foundation said the line is intended for emergencies involving people at risk of harming themselves or others. MHF said the number is a direct contact point for emergency mental health intervention and is not for general telephone counselling or conversation.
