MPC and Belgian students make 10 tables during September exchange
Fifteen Belgian carpentry students joined MPC peers from 21 to 25 September, making 10 tables before a planned January return visit.
Fifteen carpentry students from Githo School in Nijlen, Belgium, joined students in Milton Peters College's Construction Sector for an exchange from Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September. Working together, the students made 10 side tables/coffee tables.
The visiting students also attended English, art and mathematics classes at MPC. The programme included a scavenger hunt in Philipsburg, an island tour, aircraft watching near Maho Beach and swims at Divi Little Bay Beach and Kim Sha Beach.
MPC students are due to visit Githo School in January for a return exchange that will include another carpentry project. The Erasmus+ Accreditation held by the SVOBE schools covers the majority of programme costs, while additional fundraising is needed for student participation.
The 10 student-made tables are available for US$30 each through MPC. Buyers can call 548-3190 and ask for Saskia Kliphuis or Robin-Ann Didder.
