Orco Bank to give SMMC 300 shirts for breast cancer awareness

Orco Bank said it will hand St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) 300 campaign T-shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. SMMC will host a free breast screening on Saturday 31 October from 9am to 2pm AST at the medical centre, according to the bank and SMMC.

Orco Bank said the shirts are intended to raise awareness of breast cancer and early detection. Judy King Richardson, Country Manager of Orco Bank Sint Maarten, said the bank hoped the campaign would encourage more women to get checked.

SMMC said walk-ins are welcome for the screening. It strongly recommends that people pre-register by emailing their name and phone number to communications@smmc.sx.

Orco Bank and SMMC said the breast cancer initiative follows prostate cancer awareness activities held in September.
