Prime Minister Mercelina offers condolences on death of Louis ‘Porkchop’ Richardson
Government said Prime Minister Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina offered condolences to the family of musician and coach Louis Lambert Richardson.

In a release published on Thursday 1 October, the Government of Sint Maarten said Prime Minister Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina had offered condolences to the family and loved ones of Louis Lambert Richardson, known as “Porkchop”, following his death.
The government said Richardson was raised in Philipsburg and was a saxophonist and steelpan musician. It said he also contributed to baseball as a player and Little League coach, and took part in Carnival.
“It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Louis ‘Porkchop’ Richardson,” Mercelina said in the government release. “For so many in our community, his name brings back memories of laughter, music and the joy of Carnival.”
Mercelina also offered sympathy to Richardson’s children and the wider Richardson family, according to the government. He extended condolences to Richardson’s friends and to the cultural and sporting communities.
