Rolinda Carter to become USM president in January 2027
Dr. Rolinda Carter, a University of St. Martin alumna and former Dean of Academics, is scheduled to become USM president in January 2027.
Dr. Rolinda Carter is scheduled to become President of the University of St. Martin (USM) in January 2027, according to the USM Board of Directors. Carter previously studied at USM and returned in 2018 as Dean of Academics.
The board said Carter began at USM through its GED programme and earned an Associate degree before completing Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees in Canada. She left her Dean of Academics role in 2022 to pursue laboratory medicine while remaining in St. Maarten.
During that period, Carter remained involved in education, science and youth development, including as leader of St. Maarten’s National Science Fair, according to the board.
The board said it welcomed Carter’s return, describing her as a local USM alumna whose experience includes being a student, graduate and Dean of Academics at the university.
