Saint-Martin GEM completes its first year
The Saint-Martin GEM, launched in July 2025, reviewed its first year and listed cooking workshops and outings planned for year two.

The Saint-Martin GEM, launched in July 2025, has held Thursday 1 October meetings where members can propose and organise their own projects. Activities in its first year included cinema and beach outings, shared meals, visits to local businesses and lemonade sales during Handyculture.
Five of the group’s 10 members spoke about their experiences during the first-year review. Sophie said the GEM had helped her discover qualities she did not know she had. Maxime said attending the group brought him joy, while Alexandra spoke about the wellbeing she found there. SESSAD Coralita staff said they had seen Alexandra develop and flourish within the group.
AFS, ARS, SAMSAH, SESSAD, CAF, Jielle Formation and Bosco Horizon also discussed the first year. Three potential new member profiles could join the programme.
Plans for the second year include a trip to Pinel, a catamaran day and a visit to Saint-Barthélemy to meet potential GEM members. Cooking workshops are due to begin with a pizza session. An oven has been installed at the museum for activities, while board games and reading sessions are planned each month.
