Sint Eustatius to hold council, Electoral College elections on 17 March 2027

Voters on Sint Eustatius are scheduled to elect members of the Island Council and Electoral College on Wednesday, 17 March 2027, 721 News reported. Polling stations are due to open from 7:30am to 9pm AST.

The Island Council will expand from five to seven seats, according to 721 News. The elected members will serve from 2027 to 2031. Voters must be at least 18 on election day and live on Sint Eustatius on 1 February 2027, the candidate nomination date. Non-Dutch nationals who have legally lived in the Netherlands for at least five years can vote in the Island Council election.

Electoral College voting is limited to eligible Dutch nationals. The members elected to that body later vote in the Dutch Senate, or Eerste Kamer. Voting cards will be delivered to eligible voters' home addresses no later than 14 days before the election and may be used at any polling station, 721 News reported.

New political organisations have until Monday, 21 December 2026, to register a party name. Candidate nomination forms and information will be available from 11 January 2027, with candidate lists due on Monday, 1 February 2027. Statia Government is expected to publish more election information in the months ahead.
