The Sint Maarten Aquatic Federation held a final team-building session on Sunday 1 November for athletes and delegation officials before the team’s departure for the OECS Swimming Championships in Saint Lucia, SMAF said. The federation said 26 athletes, two coaches and two delegation leaders will leave on Thursday 5 November.

Psychologist Dr. Tameka Lambert led the first part of the session, which covered the team’s Code of Conduct. SMAF said athletes took part in role-playing, questions and individual and group reflection on rules, teamwork and personal responsibility while travelling and representing Sint Maarten.

Supersplash Swim Team organised physical team-building activities under president Guillaume Richards, with coach and owner Mariette Schrijvers present, according to SMAF. The federation said its national coaches are from Dolphins Swim Team and Carib Swim Team, while Supersplash contributed the activities.

SMAF said the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, Claret Connor, supported the session and refreshments. The championships are scheduled for 6 to 8 November.
