Representatives from Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin are attending Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees workshops and its Annual General Assembly together for the first time, according to the Sint Maarten Sports Federation and the Comité Territorial Olympique de Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin. The programme is being held in Curaçao from Thursday 15 October through Monday 19 October.

The Sint Maarten Sports Federation said its delegation includes president Naomi Korstanje and executive board member and assistant secretary Kimberly Reyes-Puello. CTOS SBSM is represented by its president, Virginie Carien, and sports director Peggy Oulerich.

The organisations said the programme includes workshops and training sessions on sports development and regional networking, Curaçao's sporting Honors Night, and the CANOC Annual General Assembly.

SMSF and CTOS SBSM said they have committed to work towards a memorandum of understanding on institutional cooperation and sports development. CTOS SBSM said its recent CANOC membership gives it access to Caribbean sporting networks and opportunities for cooperation.
