U15 Paradise Showdown opens 3 October at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium

PSA says more than 90 youth players, coaches and officials will join the U15 Paradise Showdown from 3 to 7 October.

Performance Sports Academy Athletics Association will host its third annual U15 Paradise Showdown from Saturday 3 October to Wednesday 7 October at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium. PSA said more than 90 young players, coaches, officials and team representatives are expected for the youth basketball tournament.

Teams representing St. Maarten, Saint Martin, Saba/Aruba, Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, Tortola and Statia will take part, according to PSA. Visiting delegations are expected to begin arriving by air and ferry on Friday 2 October.

PSA said the opening day begins with St. Maarten against Guyana at 4:35pm AST. Statia will play St. Kitts and Nevis at 5:40pm, Saba/Aruba will face Anguilla at 6:45pm, and Saint Martin will meet Tortola at 7:50pm.

The association said the first three days will have four games each, followed by crossover games, semi-finals and a championship final. Selected players will have an opportunity to travel to Tampa, Florida, for basketball training and exposure, PSA said. The event will also include morning training sessions led by coaches from the United States and referee development with the Netherlands Basketball Federation.

Admission is US$2 for children under 18 and US$4 for adults, according to PSA.
