URSM figures pledge US$500 to 37ers Little League team
MP Sjamira Roseburg and URSM President Brenda Brooks pledged US$500 to the 37ers after the team returned from an Aruba tournament.
Member of Parliament Sjamira Roseburg and URSM Party President Brenda Brooks have pledged US$500 to the 37ers, a Sint Maarten Little League baseball team. Roseburg, the vice chair of Parliament’s Committee of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, and Brooks made the pledge after travelling on a flight from Curaçao with players returning from a tournament in Aruba, according to URSM.
The team had taken part in the sixth Aruba Baseball & Softball in Paradise 2026 tournament, which opened at Kudawecha Stadium in Aruba on 12 October. URSM said the tournament included more than 60 teams from countries including Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Anguilla, the United States, the Netherlands, Mexico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Roseburg called for support for the team from government, parents, businesses and the wider community. Brooks said her experience as a former volleyball player who represented the Netherlands Antilles internationally informed her support for young athletes.
