USM holds CFY town hall before October programme start
USM held a Caribbean Foundation Year town hall for incoming students and parents, with orientation set for 1 October.
The University of St. Martin held a Caribbean Foundation Year town hall for incoming students and parents on Friday 25 September, ahead of the 2026-2027 programme. Representatives of USM, MECYS, SEA and OCW took part, according to USM.
USM said the session covered the academic programme, registration requirements and student support, and gave families an opportunity to ask questions. CFY orientation is scheduled for Thursday 1 October 2026, with classes due to begin on Monday 5 October 2026.
Shobhan Giterson of USM Marketing opened the event. Juliana Shipley-Hodge, Dean of General Liberal Arts and Education, welcomed students and parents on behalf of the university.
Robert Judd, USM's Manager of Finance and Operations, presented an overview of the academic track, including the academic-year structure, courses and programme expectations. Lissa Carter, representing MECYS/SEA, spoke about student support, while Stacey James of USM Admissions gave information on admissions and registration.
Oralie Boirard, Head of the Division for Educational Innovation, joined a question-and-answer panel with representatives of USM, MECYS, SEA and OCW, USM said.
