Wescot-Williams calls for breast cancer screening in Parliament
MP Sarah Wescot-Williams urged women to seek breast cancer screening and early detection in Parliament on Thursday 1 October.

Member of Parliament Sarah Wescot-Williams urged women to seek breast cancer screening and early detection while speaking in Parliament on Thursday 1 October, the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Wescot-Williams said regional data show breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the Caribbean and the leading cause of cancer death among women in the Caribbean and wider Americas. She said women who have been screened should encourage people in their families, workplaces and social circles to do the same.
She also recognised people and organisations that have promoted breast cancer awareness over the years. Wescot-Williams offered encouragement to women undergoing treatment and to families who have lost relatives to the disease, and said women should make screening part of their regular health care.
