Youth Brigade receives funding for instruments and leadership training

The Voice of the Youth St. Maarten Foundation said it received separate financial contributions from Het Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied, Madurodam Kinderfonds and Kinderpostzegels through Samenwerkende Fondsen Cariben. The funding will support the purchase of musical instruments for the St. Maarten Youth Brigade Drum Band and leadership development activities for its members.

The foundation said the Youth Brigade is one of its programmes and provides young people with a structured setting to learn discipline, responsibility, teamwork and leadership. It said the training component will cover communication, decision-making, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
