Fire department commanders from Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten and the Caribbean Netherlands met in ’s-Hertogenbosch and agreed to expand mutual cooperation and set joint priorities for 2027.

The commanders said the priorities include professionalising their organisations, improving fire service training and strengthening operational collaboration. They also discussed instructor and examiner quality, fire safety, incident response and fire service education.

A further commanders’ meeting is scheduled for Bonaire in December 2026. Participants intend to review a joint action list, ongoing work and the implementation of the 2027 priorities and annual plans.
