Sint Maarten recorded 5,954 more air trips by US citizens in September 2026 than in September 2025, a 51.2% increase, according to Tourism Analytics. The analysis, published on 13 October and based on US Department of Commerce International Air Travel Statistics Program data, compared with Caribbean-wide growth of about 13,140 trips, or 2.5%.

Tourism Analytics said US citizen air trips to Sint Maarten were up by 71,501 during the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. It said the figures measure US citizen departures on international flight segments, rather than official stayover arrivals, and may include passengers connecting through Princess Juliana International Airport to destinations including St. Barths and Anguilla.

For September, Tourism Analytics reported that the Bahamas gained 13,614 US citizen air trips, or 35.6%, while Aruba gained 4,448, or 7%. Jamaica recorded 22,769 fewer trips, a 21.9% fall, and the Dominican Republic recorded 1,960 fewer trips, a 1% decline.

Tourism Analytics said US citizen air travel to Caribbean destinations fell 1.8% over the first nine months of 2026. Excluding Jamaica, where it reported a reduction of 404,719 trips, Caribbean travel increased 3.3% through September.
