St Eustatius junior commissioner of tourism Reuel Schmidt is scheduled to present three strategies for multi-generational family travel at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Regional Tourism Youth Congress in Georgetown, Guyana, on Thursday 8 October. The congress is part of the State of the Tourism Industry Conference, which runs from 5 to 9 October at the Atlantic Suites by Hyatt and Atlantic Conference Center.

Schmidt’s presentation will focus on family travel involving heritage, culture and educational experiences. He succeeded Shatasia Parris, who served as junior commissioner for 2025/26.

Ilyssa Balgobin of A+ Academic & Professional Training Centre is accompanying Schmidt as chaperone. The delegation also includes Erieenne Brandao, a communication specialist with the St Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation, who is attending wider conference forums and media sessions for Tourism Statia.

Maya Pandt, Director of Tourism, said Schmidt’s participation would bring young people’s views to a regional stage.
