The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) says about 70 to 80 businesses have registered for its Miami trade mission, scheduled for Monday 16 November through Thursday 19 November. COCI President Tamara Leonard said the mission, titled From Island Roots to Global Routes, will connect businesses with commercial opportunities in the United States.

COCI said eligible participants may receive assistance of up to 50% of the US$1,850 participation fee through Dutch small-business support arrangements involving the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) and the I Am St. Martin Foundation. Leonard said the funding is limited. Applicants must show they have bought airline tickets and secured hotel accommodation. Registration closes on Friday 30 October.

COCI said the programme includes visits to an Amazon distribution centre, Interport Miami and a packaging facility, as well as workshops on business presentations, marketing, technology, international taxation, investor engagement, Food and Drug Administration requirements and customs rules. A pre-mission orientation is scheduled from 2pm to 5pm AST on Saturday 31 October in Rooms 1 and 2 of the Government Building.
