Anguilla fuel surcharge reaches EC$1.20 per kilowatt-hour for October
ANGLEC announced on Friday 30 October that its October fuel surcharge reached EC$1.20 per kilowatt-hour.

Anguilla Electricity Company (ANGLEC) announced on Friday 30 October that its fuel surcharge for October had reached EC$1.20 per kilowatt-hour, the highest surcharge reported by the company. ANGLEC said international fuel-price changes affect its electricity production costs.
The fuel surcharge is separate from ANGLEC’s regular electricity tariff, which ranges from EC$0.43 to EC$0.63 per kilowatt-hour depending on consumption. The October surcharge is expected to appear on bills issued in early November.
Under Anguilla government relief arrangements, qualifying households, apartments, public services and eligible shops pay a maximum fuel surcharge of EC$0.42 per kilowatt-hour. The government covers the difference between that cap and ANGLEC’s charge, amounting to EC$0.78 per kilowatt-hour at October’s rate for customers receiving the full subsidy.
Other commercial customers have a fuel-surcharge cap of EC$0.52 per kilowatt-hour for October, rising to EC$0.65 in November and December. Hotels, villas, guesthouses and other tourism accommodation businesses are not eligible for the subsidy.
ANGLEC’s surcharge rose from EC$0.42 per kilowatt-hour earlier this year to EC$0.88 in April and EC$1.04 in May. It fell in June and July, then rose to EC$1.05 in August and September. The EC$1.20 October rate is about Cg 0.80 per kilowatt-hour. NV GEBE’s fuel clause for October was Cg 0.47 per kilowatt-hour.
