Justice Minister Nathalie Tackling welcomed a Council of Europe delegation on Thursday 8 October, beginning a two-day working visit to Sint Maarten, according to the Government of Sint Maarten.

The Government said the group includes Clare Ovey, Clare Brown, Babette Koopman and Fay Keeris. It said the wider mission also covers Aruba and Curaçao, with talks on executing European Court of Human Rights judgments, including the Corallo and Murray cases, and on cooperation.

The delegation is scheduled to hold discussions at Point Blanche Prison and meet the Governor of Sint Maarten and Parliament’s Justice Committee, the Government said. It said the mission also covers detention, violence against women and domestic violence, democracy, the rule of law, privacy, data protection and artificial intelligence.
