The Government of Sint Maarten said KPSM has started virtual police training with the Dutch Police Academy, with completion planned for 2027.

The Government of Sint Maarten said on Friday 9 October that Korps Politie Sint Maarten, KPSM, has started a virtual training programme with the Dutch Police Academy. The government said the programme is intended to strengthen officers’ professional skills, decision-making and public safety.
According to the government, the programme focuses on daily policing challenges, including assessing situations, responding under pressure and making decisions in dangerous and complex circumstances. It said the programme is planned for completion in 2027.
The government said Minister of Justice Nathalie Tackling and Chief of Police Carl John received an overview of the virtual training system. KPSM also said one of its officers has been certified to deliver the training to colleagues.
The government said the Dutch Police Academy, the Ministry of Justice of Sint Maarten and the Board of Chiefs of Police supported the programme, including through equipment and professional expertise.
