The Caribbean Tourism Organization and tourism consultancy ICF will hold an invitation-only roundtable in London on Thursday 5 November on the Caribbean’s position in the United Kingdom and wider European travel markets. According to the organisations, the CTO-ICF Tourism Visionaries Circle will take place during World Travel Market London under the theme, “What Does Europe Want Next? Reimagining the Caribbean for the Conscious Traveler.”

CTO and ICF said tourism ministers, directors, chief executives and other industry representatives are expected to discuss changing visitor preferences, including demand for authentic, responsible and community-focused travel experiences. The session is scheduled from 1pm to 2pm, followed by a luncheon and networking session from 2pm to 3pm.

The programme includes a discussion on the Caribbean’s future presence in European markets and an anonymous “Honest Truths” segment on opportunities and difficulties in the tourism sector. CTO Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer Dona Regis-Prosper is due to give opening remarks, with contributions expected from CTO Deputy Director of Sustainable Tourism Narendra Ramgulam and ICF representatives.

Following the meeting, CTO and ICF plan to prepare a report setting out findings, shared priorities, unresolved issues and recommendations for future regional tourism policies.
