Dominica Electoral Office continues voter ID card distribution

Dominica’s Electoral Office says eligible citizens can continue collecting voter ID cards after the voter confirmation exercise.

A row of voting booths closed by red, white and blue striped curtains.

Dominica’s Electoral Office said on Monday 19 October that national Voter Identification Cards remained available for collection at designated registration offices serving each community. The office urged eligible citizens to collect their cards following an island-wide voter confirmation exercise intended to update the register of electors.

The Electoral Office said voters who misplace a card must submit a formal replacement application and pay a replacement fee. It also urged recipients to protect cards from loss or damage.

The Electoral Commission announced on 22 May 2025 that the confirmation exercise was to begin on 1 September 2025 under Section 50(1) of the Registration of Electors Act. The exercise had initially been scheduled to end on 31 August 2026 before the confirmation deadline was set for 14 October 2026.

The office said people seeking collection or registration information can contact it directly for guidance on the documents and procedures that apply to them.
