Phase 3 reconstruction work on Kaya Grandi is under way in central Kralendijk, the Bonaire government said. The work covers the section from the start of Kaya Isla Ariba to the intersection with Kaya L.D. Gerharts and is targeted for completion by the end of 2026.

The government said the main rainwater conduit has been enlarged to 60 centimetres and at least 10 new street gullies have been installed along the stretch. It said the road has also been given a crowned profile, with the middle higher than the sides, to direct rainwater to the gullies and drainage system. The section is to become accessible to pedestrians once the work is complete.

Reconstruction of Kaya Kòrsou is scheduled for January 2027, when the final Kaya Grandi phase, from Kaya L.D. Gerharts to Kaya Boneiru, is also due to begin. Kaya Grandi will reopen to vehicles after all work is finished and traffic safety conditions allow, the government said.
