Government of Sint Maarten said the Police Force of Sint Maarten, KPSM, held a pre-anniversary gathering ahead of its official 16th anniversary on 10 October. The gathering was organised with the Police Union Board, led by Marcus Pantophlet, according to Government.

Government said Chief of Police Carl John thanked KPSM officers and staff for their service. The observance also remembered Officer Keri Hyman, whom Government described as a fallen colleague.
