KPSM warns of heavier traffic in Philipsburg and Simpson Bay
Police have urged road users and transport operators to allow extra travel time as visitor activity increases.

The Police Force of St. Maarten (KPSM) issued a traffic and safety advisory on Tuesday 20 October, warning that increased visitor arrivals may bring longer travel times and slower traffic movement. KPSM said Philipsburg and Simpson Bay are expected to see heavier traffic in the coming weeks.
KPSM urged motorists, residents, visitors and transport operators to plan journeys and allow extra time. Taxi drivers, tour bus operators and other providers were asked to account for possible delays when arranging pickups, excursions and transfers to Princess Juliana International Airport, the cruise port, hotels and other destinations.
Police also reminded drivers to use designated parking areas, avoid double parking and prohibited stops, and keep roadways and intersections clear. Passenger pickups and drop-offs should take place in permitted areas without blocking other vehicles, KPSM said.
KPSM advised visitors to keep valuables secured and out of sight, avoid leaving belongings unattended or inside parked vehicles, and use well-lit routes and reliable transportation when unfamiliar with their surroundings.
