The St. Maarten Science Fair Foundation said ten high schools have expressed preliminary interest in participating in Science Week 2027. The programme is scheduled for 8–13 March 2027, with an awards ceremony planned for 20 March.

The foundation made the announcement at its Sponsor Appreciation Happy Hour on Thursday 29 October. It said schools had shown interest in the art competition, National Science Fair, STEAM field trips, robotics programme and a planned Science Ambassador Program.

The foundation said its 2026 Science Week, held from 9–21 March, reached more than 1,200 people through competitions, field trips, robotics activities and other initiatives. The National Science Fair drew more than 700 visitors, including more than 500 primary school students. Forty-seven students presented 26 projects.

According to the foundation, 61 students from six schools visited seven host organisations through STEAM field trips, a 15% increase from 2025. Its SXM Tech Tides team placed second and received two special awards at a regional robotics challenge in St. Kitts.

The foundation recognised BTP, NAGICO Insurances and The Setai St. Maarten as Elite sponsors during the appreciation event. It also said Foresee Foundation donated robotics kits and accessories after Science Week 2026.
