Simpson Bay dock closes for refurbishment
The Government of Sint Maarten says Immigration services have moved to the PJIA Ferry Dock while Simpson Bay dock is rebuilt.

The Government of Sint Maarten says Immigration services have temporarily moved from Simpson Bay dock to the Ferry Dock at Princess Juliana International Airport while refurbishment work is carried out. The government says the Simpson Bay dock became inaccessible on Wednesday 7 October.
According to the government, the temporary Immigration service point at PJIA is open from 7am to 6pm AST. It says the work is expected to take about two to three months.
The government says the project is being carried out by the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure (VROMI) and The Gioia Group. It says the work includes rebuilding the dock and parking area, adding a garbage room and landscaping, and repairs to the adjacent police station and sewage treatment system.
The Ministry of Justice is considering an additional temporary service location for the maritime community, according to the government. The Ministry of TEATT asked yacht agents, captains, marinas and vessel operators to take note of the temporary arrangements.
