The Department of Statistics (STAT) launched a new website and interactive statistical dashboard on Thursday 22 October, according to the Government of Sint Maarten. The government said the platform is intended to give the public access to official statistics and allow users to explore statistical information.

According to the government, the website includes information on prices and inflation, the labour market, population and demographics, tourism, national accounts and economic statistics, and social statistics. The government said more publications and datasets will be added as they become available.

The dashboard allows users to select indicators, time periods and other variables, filter information, compare periods or categories, explore trends and generate customised queries, the government said. It is intended for policymakers, government departments, businesses, researchers, students, journalists, educators and the public.

The government said STAT also plans to introduce initiatives explaining statistical indicators in plain language. The website is available at stats.sintmaartengov.org.
