World Mental Health Day 2026 to be observed on 3 October
CPS urged Sint Maarten residents to reduce mental-health stigma and seek support on Saturday 10 October.

The Collective Prevention Service (CPS), an executive agency of the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, called on Sint Maarten residents to recognise the importance of mental health, reduce stigma and discrimination, and support people seeking help on Saturday 10 October, World Mental Health Day 2026.
CPS said this year’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” focuses on listening to people with experience of mental health conditions and including their views in mental-health awareness, services, policies and community support.
CPS said family and social support can help people experiencing mental health challenges, but should complement professional healthcare when needed. It said people in an immediate mental health crisis, including those with thoughts of harming themselves, should seek help from a healthcare professional or emergency services and should not be left alone when there is an immediate safety risk.
CPS said the Sint Maarten Mental Health Organization provides psychiatric care. For general mental-health information, CPS listed 542-1677. It listed the confidential MHF crisis line, answered by a professional, as 585-5556. CPS can be reached at 542-1570 or 914.
