Court permits prosecution of MP Lyndon Lewis to proceed
MP Lyndon Lewis said on Wednesday 28 October that the court authorised prosecutors to take his case to trial after a 6 October hearing.

Member of Parliament Lyndon Lewis said on Wednesday 28 October that the Court of First Instance had given the Public Prosecutor’s Office permission to bring its case against him to trial. The request was heard on Tuesday 6 October, according to Lewis.
Lewis said special authorisation was needed before prosecutors could proceed because he is a sitting Member of Parliament. He said the decision allows the case to continue but does not amount to a finding of guilt.
Lewis said he would respond to the allegations through the judicial process and present his defence. He also said he would continue carrying out his parliamentary responsibilities.
