Fifteen participants completed a hospitality training programme developed by Region Deal Statia, the Statia Government and Summa College Eindhoven. According to Region Deal Statia, training sessions were held from 1 to 5 June 2026, followed by assessment and examination week from 26 to 30 October 2026.

All 15 participants received a Hospitality Certificate of Participation and a MyCompass competency passport, Region Deal Statia said. Participants who passed the examination will also receive an MBO, or Dutch vocational education, certificate.

Chandé Rivers, Lidia Matos Cruz and Luceta van Putten completed the programme's Train the Trainer component and are prepared to assist with future hospitality training on Statia. Organisers said participants will also have opportunities to serve in hospitality and guest-service roles during Statia Day celebrations.

Neptune Bar and Restaurant, Barrel House, The Old Gin House, Papaya Inn and Quill Gardens supported practical training, according to Region Deal Statia.
