FREEGAN Foundation said it held a focus group with 15 community members on Thursday 5 November, bringing together English, Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers. The foundation said translators took part so participants could express themselves in their preferred languages.
According to FREEGAN Foundation, it organises focus group meetings about six times a year to hear community members' experiences, needs, concerns and ideas. The meeting was facilitated by the foundation's in-house psychologist, Caroline van Oost, and community coaches Esther and Dorian, FREEGAN said.
The foundation said it wants feedback from participants to help guide services including food assistance, emotional support, education and social activities.
