Governor’s youth symposium rescheduled for 8 December
Governor Ajamu G. Baly has moved the 2026 youth symposium from 25 September to 8 December; public attendance requests close 20 November.

Governor of St. Maarten Ajamu G. Baly said the Governor’s Symposium 2026, originally scheduled for 25 September, will be held on Tuesday 8 December from 8:30am to noon AST. The symposium will focus on youth development and the shared responsibility of preparing young people for the future.
According to the Governor’s Office, the event will be held under the theme “Youth Development: Building Our Future, Building Our Youth” and will bring together local and international speakers to examine opportunities, challenges and support systems affecting young people in St. Maarten.
The Organizing Committee has carried out community and district outreach ahead of the symposium, the Governor’s Office said. The “My Image My World” poetry and spoken-word initiative has a 20 November submission deadline. A three-episode podcast series, “Our Youth: How Are We Developing Them, and How Are They Developing,” is due to launch on 10 November.
Attendance will be by invitation because seating is limited. Members of the public can request attendance by emailing kabinet@kabgsxm.com or through the Governor’s official Facebook page by 20 November. The Governor’s Office said 30 people will be selected and invited. The proceedings will also be livestreamed on the Governor’s Facebook page from 8:30am on 8 December.
